Test Details

CA125 is a protein in the blood which is usually increased in patients suffering from ovarian cancer. This test is used to monitor the status of ovarian cancer during & after treatment. It is also used as a marker to look for early signs of ovarian cancer in people at high risk of the disease. It should not be used as a screening test for the population because many other conditions also increase the CA125 levels in blood.Helps monitor ovarian cancer progression- Assists in diagnosing epithelial ovarian carcinoma- Aids in assessing response to ovarian cancer treatment- Supports evaluation of endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease.
